NAUTICA MIBS NAVY CUP REGATTA
We are pleased to announce our association with Nautica, one of the leading global lifestyle brands as partner for the 2008 regatta. Nautica's association with the regatta is aimed at bringing the world of sailing closer to India. The regatta will be the largest baot race in the history of India, with participation of over 300 sailors.

The regatta provides Nautica the right platform to communicate with its customers in an environment that reflects the "Nautical" values of the brand and enables consumers to bond with the brand. Globally too, Nautica is associated with various regattas.

1. EVENT
    The Nautica MIBS – Navy Cup Regatta will be held as a combined class race from the INWTC (MB) in the following categories:
   

Group A: J-24, Seabird, Lightning, A Class (All Other Keel Boats)
Group B: 470,420, Enterprise, Laser, Laser Radial, Catamaran Classes, Board Classes, Skiff Classes
Group C: Optimist

2. RULES
    The Regatta will be governed by the racing rules of sailing, rules of the classes (as amended by their respective National Class Associations if applicable) and the combined nor & sailing instructions
3. ADVERTISING
    The competing yachts shall be required to display the sponsors logo on the first 25% of their hulls. Competitors shall also be
required to wear the sponsors t shirt.
4. ENTRIES
    The Regatta is open to all members of clubs affiliated to the Yachting Association of India. Entries are to be submitted on the entry forms attached and forwarded to INWTC (MB) by 1700 hrs on 21 Feb 08.

6. CLASS FLAGS
    Group A: Sponsors flag
Group B: INWTC flag
Group C: White flag with the Optimist logo
7. MARKS
    Marks 1, 2, 3, and 4 will be orange inflatable marks.
8. START
    8.1 There will be two start lines. Start line 1 will be for groups A & B and start line 2 will be for group C.
8.2 The starting line will be between a staff carrying an orange flag on the race committee boat at the starboard end and an orange inflatable mark at the port end.
8.3 An inner limit mark may be laid for start line 1. Boats shall not sail between the race committee boat and the inner limit mark once the warning signal has been hoisted.
9. FINISH
    The finishing line will be laid in the vicinity of the INWTC jetty. The finishing line will be between a staff displaying an orange flag on the race committee boat at the starboard end and an orange inflatable mark at the port end.
10. TIME LIMIT
    The time limit will be 60 minutes. Boats failing to finish within 15 minutes of the first boat finishing the race will be scored DNF.
11. PROTESTS
    Protest forms are available at the race office. Protests shall be delivered there within 10 minutes of the boat / protestor coming ashore. A hearing shall be carried out by the protest committee as soon as possible.
12. COURSES
    The courses to be sailed are shown in the attachment. The courses to be sailed are as under

Group B: course A
Group C: course B
13. SAFETY REGULATIONS
    All participants in the dinghy classes shall wear adequate buoyancy at all times while afloat.
14. PRIZES
    All competitors and their spouses are invited for the prize distribution ceremony which will be held at 17:15 at the INWTC (MB).
Prizes will be awarded as follows
(A) The first boat crossing the finishing line in group A will be awarded the MIBS - Navy Cup trophy
(B) The first boat crossing the finishing line in group B will be awarded the Nautica trophy
(C) The first boat crossing the finishing line in group C will be awarded the Junior trophy
(D) The first three boats crossing the finish line in each class other than the Optimist will be awarded suitable prizes
(E) The first six boats crossing the finish line in the Optimist class will be awarded suitable prizes
15. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
    Competitors participate in the Regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, decision to race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the
Regatta.
